Youth Director / Worship Leader - Job Posting (7/19/2010)Do you love Jesus Christ and desire to serve God with your gifts? Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton, KS is a Spirit-led church that needs a person to help us touch the lives of God's people, especially our youth. We need someone who will work with our incredible middle and high school youth. We desire to have someone who can commit to our youth ministry and add stability. Our contemporary worship celebration needs someone who can work with dedicated people who love to worship and sing. This part-time opportunity to minister to youth AND/OR participate in the leadership team for non-traditional worship is a position that will require up to 30 hours/week. Movers & Shakers - a fitness class for women and men!Come and exercise and stretch for a hour. Move to some oldies but goodies music. Bring your water bottle and enjoy the challenge! Your choices are Mondays at 11am and Wednesday at 4pm in our Fellowship Hall. Our leader is of Tracie Strain, Director of the Wellness Center at the Newton Recreational Center. She is a Certified Fitness instructor and is certified in CPR.
Missions - August Collections - Cereal Items!In the month of August, the Trinity Heights Mission Committee is collecting cereal items. As always, any food item is also welcome. Bring your items to the plastic bins in the north hall. Thank you!
End of Summer WOW - Potluck!The Trinity Heights Trustees invite you to a Potluck End-of-Summer WOW on Wednesday, August 25 at 5:15pm. Ice cream will be provided and we will enjoy a hymn sing together, "Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs." We look forward to seeing you there!
August 29 5th SundayJoin us in Fellowship Hall during the Sunday School hour on August 29 for our 5th Sunday presentation. Willis Heck will share from the May United Methodist Annual Conference.
Cottage MeetingsFrom Pastor Cheryl: Thank you for your participation in the cottage meetings! By mid-August we will have had 16 meetings. It is good to gather in homes, in small groups to hear from each other. May God strengthen the bonds between us as we live, grow and serve.
UMW TeaYou are invited to the United Methodist Women's Tea on Sunday, September 19, at 2:00pm. Program will be given by Anita Martz, titled "Quilts and Biblical Quotes."
Trinity Heights Family Work CampThe Trinity Heights Mission Committee is sponsoring a Family Work Camp at Camp Horizon on October 29-30. Temtative plans are to go the the camp Friday evening and return on Saturday evening. Watch for more information.
